I was checking Felix’s petition when one name caught my eye. Pamela Bondi – Florida. In the notes section it read, “Dude. Hook me up on this, and he’s all yours. I’ll go down there and spring him myself.”

Yup. Conservative Florida Attorney General and noted Republican, Pam Bondi, jumped into her cherry, mint condition ’60 Corvette convertible – fire engine red, with white roll and tuck – factory stock, but all loaded up – and slammed that 4 speed OD (no granny-tranny for Pam) into gear. She blasted down the Bee-line, to Tomoka, her special set of AG keys, jangling from her hip.

Thirty five gallons of gas and twenty minutes later, she was standing at the front gate of the infamous pit of torture and privation. “Foul wretched place that you are, I curse you,” she said, as she unlocked the Iron doors.

In flawless ASL, she signed to Felix, “the state of Florida, and I personally, extend to you our deepest apologies, and we hope that you can find it in your heart to forgive us.”

With her good deed for the day done, she jumped back into the ‘Vette – which sat idling with a throaty rumble – at the curb. Painting the asphalt with both back tires, she roared off into the sunset.

It was at that point that I saw a rabbit smoking a Cohiba, and realized that I was standing – naked – in Fenway Park.

It was, after all…

a dream.
